Movie Night at Hermon Park – June 13

Beethoven, a truly great family filmBeethoven, a truly great family film

Watch a movie with your furry friend, Saturday, June 13th at Hermon Dog Park. BYOB- Bring-Your-Own-Blanket, as we screen the family classic Beethoven, starring a lovable St. Bernard with lots and lots of slobber! Host, Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council will provide popcorn, water and other snacks. Friends of Hermon Dog Park will also be in attendance, celebrating the night with owners and their dogs. There will be community booths with free dog related giveaways.

The movie will start at 7:30 pm, so bring some blankets for you and your dog as we snuggle with our best friends under the stars. Park your car at the Arroyo Seco Parking Lot, and walk through the tunnel to the entrance of the dog park. Come socialize your dog prior to the movie, and meet others in our pet community!

(If you are going to use the dog park, your dog must be spayed or neutered)

The movie night will take the place of our June Yappy Hour.

Hermon Dog Park is an off-leash park adjacent to the historic Arroyo Seco of Northeast Los Angeles. The dog park is supported by the Friends of Hermon Dog Park, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers and dependent on donations.

The park has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small, elderly and disabled dogs. Facilities include a double-gated entrance, trees, benches, and water dispensers for the dogs. The surface is decomposed granite, for mud free, easy clean up. Biodegradable doggie waste bags are available in dispensers. Hermon Dog Park is open every day from dawn until dusk.

Dog & Cat Vaccine Clinic – June Yappy Hour 6/29

Vaccine_Clinic_20140630At our June Yappy Hour and Dog and Cat Vaccine Clinic (June 29), Pets First Foundation partnered with FHDP to offer low cost vaccines to dogs and cats, and even microchipping. The first 25 pet owners in line received one free vaccine. 80 pets were vaccinated, and Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council had a booth with plenty of fun freebies and dog treats. One person received a year supply of dog food from Wellness by entering their name in the opportunity drawing. A great time inside and outside the dog park was had by all.
